Obama-on-a-tee.

Hello, readers! We’re at the start of September, which means Sensibilize this!’ is already a month old and going for a second! Thanks to all for your encouraging feedback and support. : ) Now, onto the topic at hand…

Put ‘politics’ and ‘art’ on a blender, pour the results over a t-shirt and you have this, Design by Humans’ newest creation on sale: “Obama” (props to ‘Cloxboy’ for the slick winning design). It’s great to see people from the states having the “cojones” to think about displaying their choice for President of their nation visually on a piece of clothing, considering they’ve never been too keen on exercising their civil right to vote. Hungry for change, North Americans will have the opportunity to prove their capacity to think and decide sensibly when the elections take place this coming 4th of November.

On another note, I’d like to give my compliments to ‘Design by Humans’ itself, a great website dedicated to giving new, aspiring graphic artists/designers a chance to display their work and be chosen for print by the community itself. The quality of the printing is very good as well as the price, which is a bargain for what you get (I’ve bought a couple myself). I suggest you take a look if you’re interested in different, fresh designs for your t-shirts.

Liked what you read and saw? Don’t forget to leave some feedback! Thanks for reading. : )

“Now, what about ‘WiiWare’, Héctor?”

What about it? It doesn’t excite me as it did a few months ago, if that’s what you wanted me to say. The lack of internal storage in the Wii is a stumbling block for every game release to be successful financially speaking, and it’s terrible because many games that do deserve recognition and sales suffer because of it. It has a decent assortment of quality downloadable pieces, though, even with the service being short of a year old.

Games like Lost Winds have helped defined WiiWares quality offerings since the very beginning of the service.

Games like 'Lost Winds' have helped defined 'WiiWare's quality offerings since the very beginning of the service.

But why wasn’t Nintendo bothered by this before? Could they not see that they’d lose thousands of potential customers because of that shortsighted design choice; that the profitability of the service depended on the space you may have to store your games on? The Wii already comes stuffed with channels and other applications inside its paltry internal memory of 512MB, so you actually have much less than that when it comes to extra room to stockpile your games, and that’s not counting the old-school pieces you’ve downloaded from the ‘Virtual Console’.

You’re getting the picture, right? Right now, I’d love to buy a couple more games from the ‘WiiWare’ service, yet since I already have all my space taken up by other games and applications (not a lot, mind you), I simply can’t. Well, to be fair, I could still make the purchase, erase a couple of channels and replace them with the game I bought, but the consumer shouldn’t be forced to do that. And with promising-looking pieces like ‘World of Goo’ around the corner, it’s f***ing frustrating, to say the least.

The wonderfully imaginative World of Goo.

The wonderfully imaginative 'World of Goo'.

They quickly resolve it by saying that it’s a problem affecting only the “most hardcore”, but it affects every single Wii owner (if not now, later) . Nintendo: Get on this immediately. It’s shameful that as the industry giant you are, you still haven’t came up with a solution to this dilemma affecting not only game developers, but consumers too. Yes, you’re the industry leader right now, but arrogance only takes you too far.

Frustrated like me? Don’t care? Vent your opinions by commenting below. Thanks for reading. : )
