Tired of shouting your heart out when a motherfucker destroys your ‘Warhawk’ and having people instead think you were having a bitch fit because they didn’t understand a single word you said? How about trying to plan a strategy with your comrades in said game (“guys! helloooo?” ugh) and being unsuccessful at it thanks to not a single one of them having their headset on? I’m sure you are. Of course, the fact that Sony itself had not bothered to release an official headset ever since the release of the ‘PS3′ makes matters worse.
So, try and imagine my face yesterday when I paid my daily visit to the ‘PlayStation Blog’ and read about this new, official bluetooth headset they’ll be releasing soon. Shocked? Nah. Delighted? 50/50. For me, it’s mostly a case of “too little, too late” with this new peripheral, yet I can’t help to welcome it with open arms: we’ve needed a headset of this quality from the very beginning. Having said that, it bears the question: Why not bundle this with the console, Sony? Is it too hard for you? Microsoft has done it to great success already; why not standardize communication over your developing network instead of letting gamers wander about with a bad quality, third-party peripheral? Oh well…at least we’re finally getting it.

Hopefully it's as comfy as it looks.
Quoted from the ‘blog, “The headset will feature “High-Quality (HQ) mode” with PS3. In this mode, the headset will take advantage of advanced voice technologies and noise cancellation techniques to provide clear and wideband voice input to the PS3. The HQ mode will ensure a much better voice chat quality on the PS3.” It’ll also (finally!) sport a HUGE mute button and a charging cradle, amongst other cool features. Hit up the ‘PlayStation Blog’ for more details.
This baby is being bundled with ‘PlayStation Network’s exclusive ‘SOCOM: Confrontation’, and major retailers will start offering it separately for sale at the same time (psst: buy it with SOCOM). As always, feel free to comment. Thanks for reading! : )
